Courtney Ketchen, News Reporter
Courtney was hatched in Winnipeg, Manitoba before charging out into the world. Her degree in Journalism from Mount Royal University in Calgary led her to CTV in Saskatoon and then CHCA in Red Deer. Now, she’s settling into the newsroom at TB Television. Like most of our news gurus, Courtney thrives on the unpredictability of the job. “I like having no idea what my day will be like.” She’s covered Alberta’s largest prescribed forest fire from a helicopter high above, met a dog that “sniffed” his way more than 70 km home after getting lost on a family trip, and met Stephen Harper. Courtney has a five-year-old sister and a two-year-old brother back home. But she didn’t move to Thunder Bay alone. She brought her then three-day-old Bichon Frise puppy, Kingston. “I question my own judgement sometimes!” So her off-hours are spent at the dog park and enjoying the outdoors. And scooping up puppy poop. You can catch Courtney sharing her love of the unexpected during the TB News.
