Making pennies and nickels robbing the US mint
Something is definitely skewed when it now costs more than a penny to make a penny in the United States and the cost to make a U.S. nickel is more than 7 1/2 cents.
Spikes in mineral prices for copper, zinc and nickel have Congress trying to bring back the steel pennies used during the Second World War and perhaps start using steel for nickels as well.
